What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Database Analyst position at Pearson?
Responsibilities
- Support all Oracle Database services for all applications supporting our ERP environment.
- Deploy development code
- Assist developers and testers with troubleshooting and recommendations, including but not limited to performance and functionality.
- Respond to outages of the environment and correct issues
- Routinely patch Oracle Database and Applications
- Provide required Application Administration of Non-Production Environments to Support Development and Testing
- Manage, Monitor, and Maintain Middleware for Production Environments to ensure maximum availability and performance.
- Provide Application Design and Architecture expertise to support ERP and associated applications.
- Technically lead direction of incidents, solutions, and design for team.
- Provide technical mentorship of resources.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving systems engineering (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 Years Experience Supporting an Oracle Applications Environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Ten or more years relevant experience supporting database, infrastructure, and middleware associated with one or more of the following applications:
- Oracle E-Business Suite 12.2
- Oracle Master Data Management
- Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning
- Oracle Business Intelligence (OBI)
- Hyperion Financials and Planning
- Oracle Database 12.x / 19C
- Oracle Data Integrator
- Kofax Markview
- Oracle Identity Management
- Oracle Access Manager
- Oracle Governance and Regulatory Compliance
- Significant Experience with administration of Oracle Database 12c or higher, including installation, backup and recovery, password changes, etc.
- Significant Experience with administration of WebLogic 12 and/or Oracle Fusion Middleware (11g/12c)
- Experience working with Discover, OHS, Oracle Forms and Reports
- Knowledge of XML technologies, WS-
- , SOAP, REST and other web service standards
- Understanding of the java language – common class files, command line configuration options, ability to interpret Java errors in log files
- Experience with systems and software engineering/development concepts and techniques
- Experience with Amazon Web Services or other public cloud providers.
- Prior experience administering applications and software in Linux command-line environment (OEL/RHEL 6.x/7.x/8.x preferred), including ability to use Linux commands and tools to troubleshoot issues, parse and evaluate log files and ability to write and revise bash scripts.
- Able to interact professionally with customers, developers, and colleagues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
