osition Summary
We are seeking a servant-leader Scrum Master to focus on estimation, forecasting, coordination, and execution of curriculum development, including curriculum maintenance. This position will lead, coach, and serve multiple Agile teams. This is a home-based role.
Core Responsibilities
- Work to coordinate multiple concurrent development efforts throughout their full lifecycle.
- Organize and facilitate iteration planning, daily stand-up meetings, product reviews, iteration retrospectives, and release planning.
- Track and socialize team performance goals and metrics, including team velocity.
- Identify and remove impediments and distractions that interfere with the team’s goals.
- Coach the development teams to practice the core Agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.
- Assist teams with making appropriate commitments through user story selection and task definition.
- Ensure the implementation of resolutions identified in retrospective meetings.
- Create an environment of enthusiasm and shared vision around what is being delivered.
- Champion established development processes and drive the continuous improvement of department ways of working.
- Identify and create visibility of team risks as well as project-level risks.
- Facilitate discussion and proactively resolve conflicts and, if needed, escalate appropriately.
Key Relationships
- Work with other Agile and product teams to identify and address cross-project dependencies.
- Manage risk mitigation and resolution with the project team and stakeholders.
- Negotiates internally at senior levels regarding important issues within their own area.
- Develop relationships with senior leaders across the organization, customers, and suppliers.
- Socialize team performance goals and metrics to leadership, product teams, and stakeholders.
- Act as the focal point for project communications, both within team and across team boundaries.
Professional Profile
- Bachelor's Degree or 3 to 5 years’ job-related experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform the functions of the position.
- Experience as a Scrum Master, or a similar role in an Agile environment.
- Strong understanding of Scrum principles and practices.
- Experience working with curriculum development teams.
- Experience collaborating with or managing fully remote teams is required.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Recognizes the impact of change on others and leads change through positive behavior modeling and coaching.
- Ability to facilitate conversations and facilitate problem-solving.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.
- CSM or PSM certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of Microsoft and Google business applications preferred.
