The Service Manager reports to the Vice President of Production Operations. The position is responsible for activities related the development and implementation of our production services. The role spans many types of activities, from strategic to tactical. The Service Manager will work closely with cross-functional leadership as a partner to provide in-depth project and product management expertise to ensure successful business outcomes.
Location: Remote within the US
Responsibilities:
- Create strategy and business requirements for new features or product services.
- Responsible for supporting continuous improvement of features and/or product services.
- Lead and obtain strategic buy-in from stakeholders.
- Communicate key messages and engage with many diverse functional stakeholders through the development lifecycle.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets in collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and ensure that project goals are met on time and within budget.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and develop contingency plans.
- Ensure that all project documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
- Lead and motivate team members to achieve project objectives.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
- Continuously improve processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Actively seek data as a source of product service innovation
- Act as the SME during initial roll-out and provide support when needed.
- Collaborate with leadership to track KPIs, build analytics dashboards, identify opportunities, and measure the impact of our solutions.
Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree is required in related field.
- Superior project management and interpersonal skills
- A collaborative mindset with the ability and experience working effectively as part of a project team.
- Demonstrated ability to establish positive working relationships at all levels of the organization, including the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking/long term opportunities with operational focus.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Product Manager is expected to communicate with various stakeholders including senior leadership.
- Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail, multitask and work well under pressure.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to travel 10% - 20%
- Experience in higher education environment a plus
- Knowledge of principles of educational testing and of test development and administration is preferred.
- Some experience with project managem9ent software tools such as Trello, or Jira.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $60 - $65k.
