Job Description:
The role of Social Media Manager will generate and carry out strategies to position Pearson VUE as a world leader, grow our online presence, engage with our audiences, and manage our reputation across social media. With a passion for telling stories, this position will develop strong relationships with internal subject matter experts to create insightful and appealing organic content and drive people through to our website. The successful candidate will also be responsible for customer service enquiries that come through social media by managing and escalating to the appropriate channels, and the role will be expected to regularly evaluate our processes to determine new and improved ways of strengthening our online presence.
Responsibilities :
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to develop, implement, and oversee Pearson VUE’s organic social media strategy.
- Own and manage the editorial strategy, content plan, and social media calendar for Pearson VUE.
- Collaborate with the Content Marketing team to create and post inclusive, diverse, and compelling social media content that increases brand awareness, demonstrates thought leadership, and engages our wide range of audiences.
- Monitor and respond to audience engagement across our social accounts.
- Work closely with the PR Manager and Critical Incident teams to manage our reputation across social media both proactively and reactively.
- Serve as a social media expert consultant for the broader marketing team, providing insight on strategy and best practice for the primary social media accounts, as well as our secondary and tertiary accounts.
- Stay current with social media technologies and best practices, and when the time is right, create and execute a plan for expanding into new social media platforms.
- Raise awareness of Pearson VUE across key regions and verticals by positioning us as the global leaders in the industry.
- Report on key successes, challenges, and strategic direction. Perform ROI analysis on all marketing activities.

Essential Experience:
- 3 years in social media marketing, with a focus on B2B brands required.
- Experience writing content from draft through to completion.
- Experience working with core social platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, etc.) and interested in learning more (TikTok, Pinterest, etc).
- Excellent written communication and proof-reading kills.
- Self-starter with a “can do” attitude and the drive to succeed.
- Ability to work on a non-9-to-5 schedule.
- Full rights to work in the USA.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience managing social media campaigns including design, tracking, and measurement.
- Experience with social management tools like Sprinklr, or Hootsuite
- Familiarity and interest in learning and working beyond core social platforms (e.g., Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) to keeping up with industry and/or technical discussions happening on Stock Exchange, Reddit, Discord etc.
- Strong analytic skills – ability to use data to develop, optimize and measure social programs.
- Passion to improve both processes and behaviors.
- High energy, hard worker with a strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of “virtual” teams and how to function with them.
- Resilience and the ability to work with internal and external clients.
