What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Counselor position at Pearson?
Summary
The Student Counselor functions as the Person of First Contact for Lumerit Education. The Student Counselor responds to all new inquiries that the Admissions department receives from Marketing.
General Responsibilities
- Using phone and email, the Student Counselor contacts prospective students to make sure they understand and are qualified for our programs.
- Develops an expertise on higher education and help families walk through their options, particularly focusing on solutions provided by Lumerit Education. Become proficient in various software programs, institutional resources and learn to execute operations in a fast pace environment.
- Works with an Admissions Counselor. You will be responsible for working with them to ensure pipeline integrity and help them manage their student load.
- Work with Sales Operations to ensure that all data in the CRM is as accurate as possible. when working with student, have an eye to verify student info at every interaction to ensure that we have reliable student data.
- Spend time each week educating yourself on what's new in higher education.

- 4-year degree from an accredited institution or related experience

- Ability to work with a team and independently
- Writes clearly and informatively; Edits work for spelling and grammar; Varies writing style to meet needs; Able to read and interpret written information. Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; Listens and gets clarification; Responds well to questions.
- Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; Develops alternative solutions
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
Minimum full-time salary range is between $18-20.00/hr
