What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Content Developer position at Pearson?

The Content Developer is responsible for managing the item-development process of large test-development projects, conducts meetings with subject matter experts to write and review examination items, assemble examinations using proprietary software, and ensure that test schedules are developed and maintained. The Content Developer is also responsible for managing project-specific item databases to ensure the accuracy of items and the export of test forms, in addition to participating in the building, testing, releasing, localizing, and maintaining each product.
Responsibilities:
Content Management
- Learn and use content management systems, processes, and policies
- Review and evaluate content for consistency and accuracy
- Analyze and improve item performance
- Plan maintenance of existing content Contractor Management
- Provide training and feedback to contractors
- Coordinate resources for meetings and content development
- Assign work and manage workflow for resources
Project Management
- Help develop overall schedules
- Set deadlines and manage contractors schedules
- Track due dates for multiple projects and participate in daily status meetings
- Strong personal time management required
Facilitation
- Create workshop materials
- Work with other facilitators to refine shared meeting facilitation needs
- Facilitate Item Training, JTA workshops, Tech Reviews, Standard setting meetings, and other meetings
- Conduct in house training on the exam development process.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Liberal Arts, English, Education, Information Technology, Instructional Design or equivalent
- 2 years professional test development experience
- 1 year of professional project management experience (technical project management preferred)
- 2 years of content editing (grammar, spelling), Blooms taxonomy application experience
- Strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office products
- Strong knowledge of Web applications and exposure to web development a plus
- High degree of technical literacy
- Experience with tools for creating and modifying digital graphics
A background in the testing and assessment industry is strongly preferred. Item and Test Development experience, as well as training experience, is a plus.
Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State, and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $50,000-58,000.
