UI Designer
We’re looking for a UI Designer with a strong portfolio who will be embedded within eCommerce Experience team. This team is deeply collaborative, and each member is directly responsible for the team’s success. In this role, you will work closely with UX Design, Front End Development, Authoring, Accessibility and Product Management.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-upsDesign for accessibility standards
- Create and maintain usability documentation
- Design early product concepts and partner with UX researchers to quickly field test concepts with end users
- Contribute to product growth through experimentation and optimization of existing user journeys
- Sometimes work on very broadly defined, loose concepts, and sometimes on narrowly defined, clear deliverables
- Develop and expand design systems in collaboration with other designers
- Participate in design reviews and share your work regularly with the design and leadership teams
Key Accountabilities
- Pixel perfect eye for detail
- Creation of assets for multiple platforms
- Collaborate well with UX, content, product, accessibility, design systems and engineering teams to deliver business objectives
- Understand and be an advocate for user needs
- Approach an open-ended problem space with vigor and clarity
- Think holistically about the user journey and product ecosystem
- Be solution-oriented problem solver and have a willingness to learn new skills and concepts
- Participate in UAT/FAT testing, Design QA, and User Research to ensure quality of visual design, usability, and product consistency
Requirements
- 2-5 years’ experience in digital-related design with an online portfolio of relevant visual design work
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a design related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience in partnering directly with UX Designers, Content Designers and Front-End Developers. Candidates with experience with accessibility teams will be prioritized.
- Excellent communication, self-management, and organizational skills
- Confidence in presenting to stakeholders
- Welcomes feedback, critique, and takes art direction well
- Highly collaborative in nature and commanding a positive mindset
- Proven experience in...
- Figma, Adobe, Miro, Power Point
- Explaining design rationale concisely and effectively
- Agile, lean UX, and mobile first
- Understanding the relationship of visual, interaction, content, and front-end disciplines
- Currency of design trends in mobile and design
- Experience of digital educational content (desirable)
As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Pearson provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $54,300 - $56,000. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, and information on benefits offered is here.
