The Vice President of Production Operations reports to the Sr. Vice President, Head of Evaluation Systems. The position is responsible for the operational functions that power Evaluations System’s growth, strategy, and daily operations. This role works closely with the SVP, Head of Evaluation Systems to deploy operational strategies to expand and maintain Evaluations Systems status as the market leader in the teacher certification and licensure space. Specifically, this role is accountable for Evaluation Systems scoring, reporting, technology, call center, accommodations processing, test delivery, and test development related functions. These responsibilities require significant collaboration with other business units and functional areas to drive successful achievement of business goals. The performance of the VP, Production Operations will be measured using high-level and function specific KPIs – in addition to financial management targets.

Impact of Job
This is a critical role for the Evaluation Systems business. The person occupying this role will effectively manage the infrastructure of the business. It is expected that significant rigor will be applied to professionalizing and optimizing Evaluation System’s ability to provide best-in-class operational services for internal stakeholders. Flexible, fit-for-purpose operations is, and will continue to be, a significant competitive advantage for Evaluation Systems
This position will have its functional responsibilities conveyed over time. In addition, the position will require flexibility to work with the SVP, Head of Evaluation Systems on special projects, critical deliverables, and strategy. This position will be involved in every aspect of Evaluation Systems business by virtue of the role and functional scope.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Prefer masters level graduate degree (i.e., MBA, M.A.) although not required
- Requires significant management experience; typically, at least 10 years of relevant experience required
- Requires an outcome focused, self-starter
- Requires familiarity with standardized high-stakes assessment or similar industries

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business and Operational Management
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies through change in process or use of new or existing tools.
- Lead teams in efforts directly or indirectly to achieve sustainable long-term improvements.
- Develop and monitor operational and productivity goals and objectives in order to achieve targeted improvement goals within assigned teams.
- Manage daily, weekly, and ongoing projects and objectives to ensure timely completion
- Implement quality and robust process into everything that we do
- Provide leadership, guidance, and management for all assigned operational areas
- Responsible for all of Evaluation Systems’ operational execution
Collaboration
- Work with Evaluation Systems VPs and other operating groups to operate, maintain, and grow the Evaluation Systems business.
- Understand, balance, and prioritize projects and initiatives from all parts of the business.
- Provide transparency into how we are performing and challenges that we are facing – be a business partner to other Evaluation Systems functions.
Developing and Maintaining Strategy
- Work with the SVP, Head of Evaluations Systems on developing strategies, long range planning, setting multi-year objectives and achieving greater operational efficiency.
- Maintain understanding of the strategies, direction, priorities, business drivers, critical success factors and central business issues facing the business.
- Work with the other VPs to collaborate on future capabilities and communicate the vision and strategy of Evaluations Systems.
- Work with other VPs to create and align long-term strategic goals.
- Manage the technology team to provide input into requirements and project direction for new automation tools.
- Map and understand the Evaluation System’s value chain – driving increased satisfaction for Evaluation System’s clients and competitive advantage.
Reporting
- Cascade key information throughout Evaluation Systems to provide people deeper insights needed to better manage the quality, speed and efficiency of efforts over time.
- Develop monthly reports summarizing accomplishments, plans and potential issues with key KPIs.
- Guide the Value Chain Management team to track and maintain documentation depicting any improvements and cost reduction results.
As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Pearson provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only , the range of starting pay for this role is $150,000 - $185,000. This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program, and information on benefits offered is here.
