What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Field Service Tech position at Peddinghaus?
Unique opportunity for those weary of isolation, eager to hit the road! Do you love solving a challenge? Are you the type of hands-on person who prefers to solve mechanical issues on your own without calling a professional? Are you self-motivated and independent? You may be the candidate for the job! This position is considered 100% percent travel within the continental US. Technicians will be out on the road for one week at a time, home every weekend. Techs will work and stay within the particular East Coast region - from Maine, to Pennsylvania, down to South Carolina - with occasional travel outside into additional regions to assist as needed. Workload and degree of difficulty will determine the number of jobs each week. Tech will be supplied with company vans and responsible for parts inventory and distribution to customers.
Necessary skills and attributes:
- Strong Electrical (Industrial, A/C &D/C drives, PLC knowledge, Siemens Step7 a plus!)
- Mechanical abilities - 3 to 5 years
- Open to 100% travel!
- Willing to travel internationally (rare except for training or must be agreed upon by both parties)!
- Must have clear and active driver’s licenses
- Must be able to obtain a passport!
- Basic computer skills required
- Communication skills
- Ability to read electrical & hydraulic schematics
- Electrical & hydraulic experience – 3 to 5 years
- Troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift 35lbs
- Siemens (HMI, PLC, drives, etc…) knowledge a plus!'
