What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front Office Coordinator position at Pediatric Dental Associates?
We are seeking an efficient, self-motivated, full-time team member for a family-owned pediatric dental practice. Individual must be capable of managing basic accounting, insurance, software navigation and proper phone etiquette. Must be able to multi-task and be attentive to time sensitive processes for billing and treatment plans. Customer service, teamwork, and dental office experience is preferred. The practice has 2 locations in Bend and Redmond, OR. Ability to work out of both office locations is necessary.
Duties:
- Manage all front office activities, including greeting and assisting patients, answering phone calls, verifying insurance, reviewing benefit plans, and directing inquiries to the doctors and/or other staff members.
- Coordinate appointments and maintain appointment schedules for multiple providers.
- Utilize computerized systems to schedule and confirm appointments, update patient information, verify insurance and process payments.
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including mail, email, and faxes.
- Provide clerical support such as typing, filing, scanning, and photocopying documents.
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when interacting with patients, parents and families.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless communication and coordination of tasks.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a dental office or similar healthcare setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in computerized systems for scheduling appointments, managing patient information, verifying insurance and processing payments.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries or complaints in a professional manner.
- Excellent proofreading skills to ensure accuracy in written communications.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with phone systems and ability to handle high call volumes while maintaining professionalism.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
