POSITION PURPOSE
Oversees the Developmental Preschool program. Supervises direct care staff and habilitative services provided to Early Intervention Day Treatment (EIDT) recipients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & BASIC DUTIES
Supervises the Developmental Preschool Program, including supervision of direct care staff and any habilitative services provided.
- Supervises the direct care provided to EIDT recipients.
- Building set up and daily grounds inspection, including playground environment, to ensure safety and welfare of all children is maintained.
- Conducts reviews of the center to ensure that Arkansas Child Care Licensing and EIDT requirements are being followed.
- Available for morning arrivals of students and staff to address any concerns.
- Acts as the contact person for daily operations, building needs, and/or issues as they arise.
- Maintains or supervises communication with parents/guardians of preschool students for upcoming events, classroom changes, via paper memos or electronic communication (Remind App, etc.).
- Schedules needed conferences and referral meetings for the Kindergarten transition process.
- Monitors classroom attendance by submitting weekly attendance records, tracking patterns, contacting families, etc.
- Monitors compliance of teaching staff with our classroom transition policy by running a weekly Headcount report on deTASO.
- Completes other weekly and monthly reports as required by the facility for maintenance of EIDT guidelines, facility policies, etc.
- Assists in monitoring of recess zones.
- Manages classroom staffing to ensure maintenance of required direct care staff ratios in each classroom.
- Monitors classroom attendance by submitting weekly attendance records, tracking patterns, contacting families, etc.
- Monitors classroom staff attendance record and provides occurrences in accordance with the occurrence policy.
- Supervises the payroll process including verification of time sheets, leave requests, etc.
- Oversees requisitions and supplies for the building and completion of associated expense report.
- Oversees maintenance requests and is available for annual inspections.
- Assists Director with interviewing for open classroom positions.
- Oversees new hire orientation for classroom staff.
- Oversees the 30-60-90 Day Review Process for new hires.
- Assists Director with annual performance evaluations.
- Conducts classroom observations as needed for minimum licensing issues, interpersonal conflicts, and classroom presence issues.
- Assists in the completion of any needed worker's compensation paperwork or corrective action plans in conjunction with Human Resources staff and Preschool Director.
- Assists in scheduling monthly in-services and ensures that staff are notified.
- Oversees the extended care program.
- Oversees the Medicaid transportation process.
- Acts as the contact person for Preschool Sunshine Fund and delegates tasks to the Programming Coordinator as needed.
- Actively attends and contributes to all required administrative meetings.
- Works with administrative team to ensure special events are effectively and efficiently initiated, planned, and executed.
- Shared responsibility for completion of monthly lead teacher One-on-One meetings with Curriculum Coordinator.
- Observes and provides feedback to lead teacher during assistant teacher One-on-One meetings.
- Attends Multidisciplinary conferences as needed.
- Is available to parents as needed for questions/concerns as well as tours of the facility for prospective parents
- Available to assist with any IT related issues for classroom teaching staff.
- Oversees intake process for new enrollments and discharge process for children being discharged from the preschool.
- May perform other related and non-related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications
Education/ Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or related degree from a four year accredited college or university with a CDA.
Experience/ Knowledge required:
- Two years of successful experience in a classroom setting working with developmentally at-risk children or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills/ Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people.
- Must be able to work with children birth to age 18 and families who are at risk.
- Knowledge of Benchmark Assessment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills which includes a working knowledge of database, word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet software.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment.
