We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team at a leading global manufacturing company in Cedar Rapids, IA. As a Cost Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate cost analysis, aiding in forecasting, and supporting process improvements within our dynamic organization here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
What You Will Do as a Cost Analyst:
Standard Cost Management: Lead annual standard cost accounting procedures to maintain the accuracy of our cost structure. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with established standards.
Financial Forecasting: Assist in monthly and quarterly forecasting activities, providing valuable insights into cost projections and trends.
Variance Analysis: Support month-end close activities by conducting plant monthly variance reporting. Ensure the accurate presentation of financial results and provide actionable insights into cost discrepancies.
Cost Trends and Savings: Analyze cost trends and variances, offering recommendations for cost-saving opportunities. Your expertise will contribute directly to enhancing our operational efficiency.
Cost Reporting: Prepare and analyze cost reports, translating complex data into meaningful information that informs decision-making processes.
Process Improvements: Lead the identification and implementation of process improvement initiatives. Your innovative thinking will contribute to streamlining operations and enhancing overall performance.
To be Successful, It Will Help if You Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with a strong emphasis on general and cost accounting principles.
Minimum of 1 year of hands-on costing experience within a manufacturing company setting.
Proficiency in reconciliation, analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving, and exceptional organizational skills.
Experience working with Microsoft Office suite, advanced Excel skills, general ledger systems, and Power BI reporting.
