1st shift Machine Operator - Racking needed in our South Bend, Indiana location- Monday - Friday 6am - 230pm. Come work for an awesome employer that values their employees. Machine Operator is a self-motivated team player, who has the flexibility to adapt the workload as customer changes are communicated and evolve within the day to day operations of the cell. They have the skills to successfully work with their assigned machinery to keep it running efficiently and safely. Effective Machine Operators can think on their feet, make quick decisions and have strong attention to detail to ensure no machinery issues go unnoticed. The Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, and run various machines in accordance with customer and PEI specifications safely.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (Needed/desired for this Position)
1 years’ experience with Machine operations (to include manual machines, CNC machines and various other machines). This can include other combustible machines- farm equipment, automobiles, trucks, etc.
Communication skills; Ability to communicate with peers, superiors, and management -both written and verbally.
Self Motivated and have the ability to be cross trained for all areas of production.
Ability to fluctuate schedule as deemed necessary by management or as the work load requires.
Willingness to obtain knowledge of product and process.
Ability to follow directives as set forth by leadership.
Good hand/eye coordination, ability to pay close attention to detail, and be a team player.
High School Diploma or GED Preferred or any combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
TECHNICAL and/or MANAGERIAL JOB COMPETENCIES – (Specific Job Proficiencies and Skills)
Demonstrate excellent manual dexterity in the assembly of small components with or without the assistance of equipment.
Computer knowledge and ability to read and interpret work instructions
Self motivated to set up machine in a timely manner as well as train others
Teamwork and communication skills- flexibility to cross train and work well within the cell
Assists in training of new employees in core skills of primary position.
The goal will be to ensure that production procedures will be carried on smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits.
