Role Overview:
We are looking for a motivated, mission-oriented corporate counsel to join our growing Legal team. As the second attorney for the company, you will help drive success for our commercial organization, support operational and clinical initiatives, advise on product development, and serve as a trusted partner to the General Counsel and leadership team.
In this role, you will...
- Navigate Uncertainty - assess overlapping (and sometimes conflicting) federal and state regulations governing Telehealth and Substance Use Disorder programs; support compliance with provider licensing, registration and other operational requirements.
- Accelerate Our Business - draft and negotiate commercial agreements with customers, health plans and partners; develop templates and playbooks to facilitate contracting; oversee contract and vendor management.
- Shape Our Success - advise on product development and a broad range of initiatives from AI to privacy-by-design; serve as a primary contact to our internal teams.
The background we're looking for...
- JD from an accredited US law school; current bar registration and good standing
- 4 years of experience at a law firm or in-house
- Self starter with ability to work independently and remotely
- Attention to detail and clear written/verbal communication
- Collaborative approach, curiosity, and willingness to stretch
- Ability to operate with a business mindset
It would be nice if you also had experience in...
- Familiarity with Telehealth, Digital Health or SUD and applicable regulations (HIPAA, Part 2, PHE Waivers/Flexibilities, etc.)
- In-house experience with high growth startup
- Exposure to provider licensing and corporate practice of medicine
- Past implementation and administration of a CLM or other ticketing/workflow system
- Comfort supporting cross-functional stakeholders with competing priorities and deadlines
