What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Analyst position at Pelican?
Performs data analysis for the Procurement Team to assist with making decisions based on data created and evaluated by the analyst. Acts as a liaison between Finance and other internal departments to provide data on Procurement department performance and the teams contribution to Pelican’s success. Creates monthly reporting (QBR and MPI) and maintains, reports and identifies actions from KPI dashboards & PPV reporting. Creates and manages commodity market intelligence (i.e. resin, corrugate, freight, etc). All activities scale the global organization and include all Pelican locations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Leads the planning, execution, and monitoring of the global spend analytics program, ensuring alignment with strategic suppliers, objectives and timelines.
Facilitates collaboration between various departments and business units involved in Spend Analytics data
Identifies potential risks and dependencies associated with market conditions
Performs cost analysis and benchmarking to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency gains
Researches and analyzes data and other category-related information to identify trends, category performance, competitive threats, and opportunities to support procurement goals and business decisions
Prepares Cost-Benefit Analysis reports, monthly Supply Cost Reports, and updates the Procurement Dashboard to provide status updates to Executive Leadership
Identifies gaps in master data and drives corrective actions / transactional processes to improve data integrity
Develops additional KPI’s to measure our suppliers as well as the Procurement department
Manages data integrity for purchased parts in the material master for import or export information
Manages the costs roll-ups to Finance on a quarterly basis to ensure Master Data is correct and costing is correct in our MRP System (SAP)
Creates and analyzes documented comparative costs submitted by suppliers in the RFQ process
Manages the Supplier Portal to encourage use by Suppliers and develops more uses for the Procurement Team and Suppliers via the portal
Partners with New Product Development (NPD) teams to analyze Make vs Buy scenarios
Compile and understand previous spend data to define which incumbent suppliers are the best options for NPD projects
Supports RFP analysis as needed for Buyers and NPD teams
Oversees the Excess Inventory Report and determines best strategy to eliminate excess and obsolete inventory
Supports yearly Planning and Budgeting process as well as Ops Conference reporting
Follows, maintains and enforces ISO standards and all compliance requirements
Analyzes vendor ratings based on Quality, Service, and Delivery
Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job
Perform additional duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance and/or 3 years equivalent experience as a Procurement/Purchasing Analyst
In-depth knowledge of purchasing procedures/practices in a manufacturing environment
Advanced Knowledge of MRP Systems and related reporting systems (Preferably SAP)
Must be eligible to receive information controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
Advanced analytical and reporting skills
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have Excellent Microsoft excel skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
3-5 years of international purchasing analyst experience
Advanced SAP Experience a plus

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be constantly required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities
Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
