POSITION PURPOSE |
Provide overall leadership, supervision, and coordination of all site-level Beginning Teacher Supports programs to provide Beginning Teachers with worthwhile learning experiences. Oversee strategic planning of site-based beginning teacher support program development and improvement. |

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION STANDARDS |
|
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES |
·Ability to organize and supervise Beginning Teachers · Previous successful coaching experience and Mentor experience · Must understand and follow the rules of NCDPI regulations for BT support including steps necessary to progress from residency/SP1 licenses to SP2 licensure · Knowledge of licensure policies of North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, and the Pender County Board of Education as applicable · Ability to plan and prioritize a strategic plan for all aspects of Pender County Beginning Teacher Program

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE |
· Bachelor’s degree or higher · Hold a Valid teaching license in North Carolina · Training and certification in Effective Mentor training |
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license according to the State of NC requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |
· Develops and maintains a continuous improvement mindset by developing short and long-range strategic goals of the beginning teacher beginning teachers program of Pender County Schools · Reports to the Assistant Superintendent to supervise the overall beginning teacher program · Administers all district policies and procedures of Pender County Schools and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction as applicable · Observes school-level beginning teachers and provides individual coaching · Makes recommendations for the improvement of the beginning teacher program consistent with the overall l strategic plan · Develops, with appropriate input, beginning teacher game schedules for middle school · Interprets Board policies to coaches and beginning teacher Directors · Seeks ways to finance and support the beginning teacher program · Manages and maintains the beginning teacher financial accounts, including capital outlay projects, coaching stipends, fundraising, and expenditures · Coordinates with School Level beginning teacher Directors to make arrangements for beginning teacher transportation, lodging, and meals as necessary · Supports school-level beginning teacher Directors in the receipt and evaluation of equipment, supplies, and uniforms requests and inventories from coaches and makes requests for purchasing as appropriate · Works with each school level beginning teacher director and school level admin to develop an annual l beginning teacher budget · Oversees the overall district plan by assisting school level beginning teacher departments to Coordinate use and schedules of all beginning teacher facilities · Coordinates additional professional development based on data · In conjunction with the principal, coordinates the development of a site-based beginning teacher program · Establish and maintain a district -wide program for retention and recruitment · Provide professional development as needed for staff Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor |

PHYSICAL DEMANDS |
Must be able to use a variety of office equipment such as computers and copiers
Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 20 pounds Due to the amount of time spent working on the computer, standing and walking, physical requirements are consistent with those for light work

WORK ENVIRONMENT |
Must be able to work in office and public school environments, and come into direct contact with staff and students
