We are seeking an Associate, Institutional Sales and Service, based in our Vancouver head office, who will play a key role supporting the sales team headed by the VP of Institutional Sales and Service. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial drive to identify, develop and strengthen relationships with a diverse clientele of sophisticated investors and prospects, including HNW Individuals, Family Offices, Foundations, Endowments and Pensions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone in the early stages of their career interested in a rewarding career path to becoming a successful relationship manager for high-net-worth individuals, family offices and institutions.

 

Main Responsibilities include:

 

  • Accelerate Sales: Drive the sales process through proactive prospecting, effective RFP/RFI responses, and streamlined client onboarding.
  • CRM Management: Oversee the CRM system to enhance client/prospect data accuracy, ensure timely follow-ups, and sustain sales momentum.
  • Data Room & Investor Portal Management: Maintain up-to-date and accessible materials to support the sales process and client engagement.
  • Build Relationships for Success: Forge strong internal and external partnerships to understand needs and facilitate timely, sales-aligned responses.
  • Elevate Client Engagement: Develop and distribute impactful client reports, presentations, and communications. Coordinate educational and networking events to nurture leads and strengthen client ties.
  • Market Visibility: Keep key third-party databases (e.g., eVestment, Prequin, PitchBook) updated to boost visibility and attract institutional investors.
  • Product and Market Expertise: Stay informed on Pender’s funds and industry trends to inform sales strategies and discussions.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A post secondary education
  • CFA, CIM or working toward designation preferred
  • Prior sales experience in the financial services industry is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior client service skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and to be a great team player

We are sharing that the estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year. In determining final salary, Pender considers many factors including the candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, job responsibilities, market conditions, position location and internal equity. Our aim is to ensure fair compensation practices that align with industry standards while acknowledging the unique value and expertise each individual brings to the role. The final base salary for the offer will be presented as part of a competitive compensation package.
