Who We Need:
We are expanding our Engineering team and looking to add another team member in the role of Project Engineer. You will be accountable for the successful development and execution of projects as well as for the technical support of manufacturing operations at all PC-US sites. This role is hands-on with company-wide exposure. You will build effective relationships and support the members of all departments such as Production, Maintenance, etc. This role will be based at the Hatfield, PA campus and will require business travel to other sites as needed.
Your Education will include:
- B.S. Degree in an Engineering discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) from an accredited university or college
- PMI certification is a plus
Your Knowledge, Skills and Experience will include:
- 5-10 years’ engineering experience in industrial environments
- Candidates without engineering degrees will be considered with 15 years of similar experience but must include 5 years of project or construction management in heavy industrial, chemical or food manufacturing environments.
- Ability to solve unstructured problems, prioritize, and adapt to changes on short notice
- A proven mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical systems (dust collection, pumps, bearings, heat transfer, manufacturing equipment, etc.)
- Ability to understand drawing and equipment document information
- Significant hands-on experience with industrial equipment
- Experience with plastics (experience with extruders a plus)
- Experience with Solvent-based products and equipment
- Understanding of government regulations in an industrial setting
- Must be a self-starter with strong organizational and project management skills
- Attention to detail to complete tasks independently, quickly, and correctly
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and deal with all levels of the workforce
- Competency with computers and computer applications and aptitude for learning new software programs, proficiency in CAD (preferred)
- PMI certification a plus
What YOU Can Do For Us:
- Serve in multiple capacity as coordinator of individual capital projects and as provider of maintenance engineering support
- Conceive, present, design and oversee projects with purpose of, but not limited to: improving processes, updating process equipment, improving current facilities and designing plant additions and new plants
- Exhibit skilled project management in guiding projects to meet target commitments in costs, schedule, quality and safety
- Apply project management techniques in facilitating equipment-related improvements and/or optimization of existing maintenance programs
- Engage with various team members and stakeholders that will include executives, office staff, production personnel, laboratory chemists, maintenance mechanics and contractors
- Generate engineering solutions that follow recognized and generally accepted practices and work within the standards of ASME, BOCA, IFC, NEC, NFPA, & OSHA
- Recognize, analyze, and recommend alternative solutions to problems and issues
- Spend time in production to fully understand the needs of personnel, the processes and equipment
- Assist Production and Maintenance in troubleshooting operational issues, performing root cause failure analysis, recommending improvements, specifying equipment, and coordinating outside services
- Supply technical work direction to trade labor, supervise mechanical and electrical contractors during construction and installation of process systems, and field verify that work is being done properly
- Run technical meetings, develop action lists, and drive actions to completion
- Works on a variety of assignments concurrently, prioritizing between initiatives with longer due dates and tasks on urgent and immediate timelines
- Prioritize safety in managing multiple tasks across multiple projects
- Travel occasionally (approximately 20%)
- Other duties as assigned
