CNC Programming Supervisor

This position has responsibility for implementation of CNC programs utilized in the manufacture of components. This includes determining tooling and machining techniques to minimize machining cost and providing guidance on tooling to reduce set-up times and assisting employees in training for CNC machine operation and setup. Principal responsibilities include: Programming of all “G” code CNC Machines. Editing, updating, and maintaining part programs in accordance with ISO 9001 procedures and company policy. Development and maintenance of fixture and setup documentation. Maintain configuration control of all programs, inspection documentation and set up sheets Work with vendors to manage tooling and insert inventory, preferably using a vending machine solution. Using all Leverage Spend suppliers and or vendor managed tooling and supplies. Interacting with machine operators to insure safe and productive part machining processes. Perform tool cost analysis when evaluating new tools and inserts to find the lowest cost solution based on machining time, tool life, number of edges, set-up time, and tool cost. Assist management and employees in recommending methods to improve shop floor efficiency, reduce waste of materials and utilities by proposals that include restructure job duties, reorganize workflow, relocate workstations and supporting equipment or tools. Implement and sustain 6S/Lean initiatives including safety & plant housekeeping For equipment maintenance, establish routine and preventative maintenance program for all equipment, including heat treat furnaces and equipment. Schedule maintenance work orders, as required, with proper approvals Qualifications for the position: Good knowledge of CNC machining equipment, cutting tool application, and work holding. Strong computer skills, able to learn and operate computer based programming systems, CAD/CAM systems, and networking systems (used for machine control communication). Must have a positive attitude when working with operators and other employees.
