Ophthalmology (Radnor, PA)

Full Time- Day Shift

The Ophthalmic Technician assists and works under the direct supervision of the Ophthalmologist. The responsibilities require performing a preliminary examination on all patients, which include, however are not limited to, a complete medical and ocular history, visual acuity, lensometry, refractometry, slit lamp exam, applanation tonometry, visual fields, pupil dilation, topography, pachymetry, and OCT’s. If required, Technicians also assist the physician with in office procedures and the completion of consents and surgical forms and other duties as needed.

Two years of satisfactory, full-time work experience under ophthalmologic or optometric supervision; or anticipated graduation within 4 months from an accredited program for Ophthalmic Technicians. JCAHPO certification at either the COA, COT, or COMT level preferred. Will provide on job training if the applicant has experience in various capacities within the medical field. If trained, it is expected that the applicant sit for JCAT basic home study course within 3-9 months of employment; and test for COA Certification within 12 months of hire date. Failure to do so will result in termination of employment. CPR certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire date and re-certify every two years.
