SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer, responsible for coordination and logistics of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs to advance Penn State Health’s DEI strategic goals. In conjunction with Marketing/Communications, communicates, both internally and externally, the health system’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, including the commitment to being a "best practice" inclusive work and culturally responsive patient care environment. Supports programmatic requirements to increase the representation of diverse employees. Coordinates an inclusion educational program. Increases the engagement of employees and the local communities in the health system’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, including efforts to address health disparities and supplier diversity.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
Three (3) years of relevant experience related to training program coordination, supporting diversity/inclusion initiatives, managing complex and multiple budgets and advancing strategic initiatives required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Project management skills in implementing complex programs and developing/implementing a budget.
Experience developing effective marketing/communication materials related to diversity/inclusion initiatives.
Proven success working with staff and community members.
Working knowledge of diversity and inclusion principles.
Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment required.
Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills required as well as strong communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Master's degree or higher preferred.
Bilingual, with Spanish preferred.
