AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State LeHigh Valley Community Outreach is hiring Summer Camp Assistants for several weeks between June 15 and August 4. The position requires an interest in working with elementary through high-school students in academic-based programming and a creative mindset to make learning fun! Pre-service teachers, college students with experience tutoring and working with youth, and adults who work with children are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities include: assisting instructors deliver camp content to students in grades K-12, promoting a fun and supportive environment that contributes to learning and positive social engagement for students. Candidates must display a commitment to diversity, co-curricular education, sustainability, and should have excellent communication skills. In addition to the program weeks, there will be an in-person training session held the week of June 14th.
Requirements include:
- Reliable transportation to two remote sites; one in Montgomery County, one in Lehigh County.
- Availability during the weeks of June 15-August 4. Camps will be a 6-8 hour commitment each day.
- All instructors must obtain appropriate background clearances in accordance with State law and University policy. This position
requires the following 3 publicly available clearances:

FBI Criminal Background Check.

All instructors must take Reporting Child Abuse training per University policy AD72

Attendance at training session and preparation of camp materials prior to start of camps are both mandatory.
