Nonprofit Campaign Director to Stop Plastic Pollution in PA

PennEnvironment
Philadelphia, PA Full Time
POSTED ON 6/30/2022 CLOSED ON 8/1/2022

What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nonprofit Campaign Director to Stop Plastic Pollution in PA position at PennEnvironment?

We’re hiring Canvass Office Directors to build and lead teams of canvassers that will fundraise and build support for some of our country's most pressing issues - like building support to pass a ban on foam cups and takeout containers in Pennsylvania. We are hiring for immediate positions as well as positions starting in the fall.

As a Canvass Office Director, you and the canvass staff you hire and train will knock on doors and have face-to-face conversations to fundraise, mobilize people to get involved, and support some of the country’s leading non-profit groups, including Environment America and PIRG. Being a director requires that you work independently, exercise good judgment and work hard to meet your office’s staffing, campaign and fieldwork goals. You’ll develop communication and leadership skills that will last a lifetime, and you’ll be building the grassroots people power that’s behind all social change.

Apply to work with us if you want to:

  • Educate and engage citizens on campaigns like tackling climate change and moving beyond single-use plastics
  • Build support and fundraise for leading non-profit groups, like Environment America and PIRG
  • Hire, train and manage staff

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who have leadership experience and excellent communication skills, and who want to work hard to make lasting, positive change on important issues.

Training

We have an excellent training program — it’s one of the things for which we’re most widely recognized. All positions have a month-long initial training, most of which is spent working in an existing field office and getting hands-on training. Directors also receive classroom-style training on social change concepts and skills.

Throughout the year, new and experienced canvass directors will participate in advanced trainings on staff management, canvassing, campaign strategy, and other skills.

Locations

We work on campaigns and in locations that we think will make the biggest difference. We are running campaigns in CA, CO, IL, MA, NM, OR, WA, and Washington, D.C.

The target annual compensation for this position is $35,750-$53,000, depending on location. The Fund offers a competitive benefits package.
