Job Summary:

Responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services, including warehouse inventory items, exercises buying responsibilities and judgment on the basis of the best value, considering quantity, quality and service while strictly adhering to department specification. Assists in the maintenance and organization of warehouse inventory items, the direct receiving of items and special project purchases. Promotes positive public and employee relations.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information in accordance with established Company
Policy, State and Federal regulations.

2. Provides next-level guest service to internal and external guests.
3. Responsible for creating and fostering an environment of support and motivation for team members.
4. Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.
5. Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
6. Assist in monitoring and tracking spending by category including MWBE.
7. Reviews requisitions, contacts vendors, and purchases goods based on agreed upon price, quantity and quality, ensuring timely procurement of goods at price/value to meet the needs of each depart- ment.

8. Communicates and coordinates with user departments to understand needs, anticipate and resolve is- sues, and ensure that purchasing services meet the needs of the Company.

9. Reviews bids for all major purchases to secure the most advantageous deal in relation to price, quantity, qual- ity, service level, and delivery schedule.

10. Researches and communicates with existing and potential vendors to cultivate working relationships and de- velop most advantageous price and service agreements.

11. Reviews inventory (such as office supplies and par items) and places orders to maintain par levels of inventory which best meet users’ specifications and requirements.

12. Works with vendors to resolve discrepancies, return items, and coordinate delivery schedules in order to ensure timely delivery of quality product that meets the user department needs.

13. Ensures compliance with Internal Control Policies and Procedures. Adheres to regulatory, depart- mental, and company policies in an ethical manner.

15. Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
16. Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
17. Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member’s department.
18. Take on and manage various projects as assigned in order to aid in achievement of evolving Company goals and objectives.
19. Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
20. Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team

Position Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age with a High School diploma or GED certificate plus two or more college accounting courses, and two or more years of purchasing experience. Combinations of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Associate

Degree is preferred but not required.

  • Required competencies include initiative, time management, decision-making, communication proficiency and organizational skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and Purchasing system, or equivalent, applications is required.
  • Strong oral and written skills.
  • Must be able to formulate and communicate ideas and to make independent decisions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses, certifications, and indemnifications requisite to the successful completion of all essential responsibilities.
  • Must meet or exceed all regulatory conditions stipulated for individuals holding this or similar positions.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: This job operates in a professional office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

· This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.50 per hour
