Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Communication Specialist to join our team. As a Communication Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing effective communication strategies to enhance our organization's brand image and engage with our target audience. You will be responsible for assisting with producing written content for communications and marketing efforts, including communication plans, news releases, website copy, social media, newsletters, email blasts, brochures, outreach events, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Marketing and Strategic Communications team in developing, implementing and evaluating communications strategies designed to advance agency’s strategic goals and mission statement.
•Coordinate with agency staff to produce written content for short- and long-term communications and marketing efforts, including communications plans, messaging, news releases, website copy, social media, newsletters, email blasts, brochures, news releases, outreach events, branding strategies and more.
•Serve as a communications liaison between the Game Commission’s six regions and bureaus.
•Create communications, marketing and outreach materials using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
•Assist in reporting on agency-related events and activities, including gathering photos and videos.
•Assist in planning press conferences and other outreach events to help advance the agency’s news, messages and initiatives.
•Regularly communicate to select outreach networks, including conservation groups, industry representatives, other governmental agencies, media and more.
•Produce and edit all written communications using AP Style of Writing.
•Utilize agency’s brand and style guidelines.
•Create responses to public inquiries made via social media, email and phone, as needed.
•Provide communications counsel and preparation for media interviews, as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Communication, Journalism, or a related field
- Knowledge and passion for hunting, wildlife conservation and/or the outdoor industry highly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research and analytical abilities
- Proficiency in using various communication tools and platforms
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with exceptional proofreading skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $56,900.00 - $86,514.00 per year
