What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at Penquis CAP?
Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for 50 years is currently seeking a full-time (40 hours/week; benefits eligible) Financial Analyst to fill a vacancy within our Finance team in Bangor, Maine. The Financial Analyst leads the budgeting process and manages fiscal compliance within the agency.
The Financial Analyst will assist the Chief Financial Officer in all functional areas and have primary responsibility for financial contract management and reporting within your department. You assist in monthly preparation of financial statements, monthly budget report analysis, IRS Form 990 preparation and annual audit assistance. You work closely with the fiscal staff and senior program staff to ensure that all contract budgets are accurate. You report to the departmental staff, the Associate Finance Director and the Chief Financial Officer on the progress of contract budgets vs. actual expenditures.
Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, at least 5 years’ experience in a busy accounting office, and excellent computer skills, including experience in computer-based accounting applications, as well as spreadsheet and word processing programs. The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently, show initiative, provide leadership, prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced diversified workplace. The salary range for this position is $53,845 to $80,768, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
