Job Description:

POSITION PURPOSE

The Quality Intern/Coop is responsible for working with Engineering to build quality into new and updated products; work with suppliers to help ensure process and product quality. This person is continually conscious of improving quality as seen through our customer’s eyes, reducing internal quality costs and losses, and of improving the robustness of our processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct audits of internal manufacturing process, track issues and help to implement corrective actions.
  • Work with the Quality Manger to track and respond to customer complaints
  • Assist in managing of sorting and rework of suspect parts; assist with in-coming inspections and calibration maintenance as needed;
  • Work with Cross Functional members to write Work Instructions, Std Work and any other Quality procedures

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Pursuing a 4 year degree in Engineering or other related field.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Skill in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook; ability to learn JD Edwards
  • Basic knowledge of engineering fundamentals, blueprint reading, hand tool measurement experience
  • Detail oriented and accurate
  • Must have demonstrated the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and complete projects on schedule and on budget.
  • Analyze, organize, and problem solve frequently and efficiently
  • Ability to communicate status and actions effectively

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS SPECIFIC TO THIS POSITION:

Walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 50lbs, use of a computer, typing and ability to speak English.
