Veterinary Healthcare Associates is a veterinarian owned small animal practice that encourages a self-directed and entrepreneurial work environment. Our fast growing, progressive, AAHA accredited 10 doctor emergency, specialty referral and primary care practice. Our team has a place for everyone - full-time and part-time.

Specialty Surgery Veterinary Technician Responsibilities:

The specialty surgery technician provides consistent, informed, compassionate care for all specialty/referral surgery patients and clients. The purpose of this position is to assist the specialty surgeon with all referral consultations, surgical patients, client and referring veterinarian communications, and prepare, assist and monitor all specialty/referral surgical patients and procedures. Prepare anesthetic protocol according to pet’s weight and needs. Have anesthetic machine, operating room, and all other supplies and instruments ready.

  • Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) desirable but not required.
  • Previous On-The-Job Surgical experience desirable when not a CVT.
  • Minimum two years experience as a surgical veterinary technician preferred.
