Duties Description

The incumbent will be supervised by the Chief Occupational Therapist. Duties will include administering Occupational Therapy (OT) Service Provision according to OT Plans of Care, Dining Guidelines, and Safe Patient Handling Plans throughout the Ontario, Livingston, Wayne, Yates and surrounding counties, assist in teaching New Employee Orientation, Annual Refresher Trainings, Beyond the Basics, individualized ADL and mobility related trainings, Dining Skills Training, Bed Safety Training, Tub/Bathing Training, Safe Patient Handling Training, as scheduled. The incumbent will document in the Electronic Health Record in accordance with regulations. Attend and participate in Departmental, Life Plan meetings. Monitor and procure supply inventories for occupational therapy needs. Knowledge of NYS Bed Safety Guidelines and NYS Safe Patient Handling legislation/techniques, and experience with complex seating and positioning is preferred. Physical demands are considerable and include bending, lifting, standing, and walking to assist individuals during occupational therapy treatments and trainings. NYS driver’s license is required for daily travel throughout the Ontario, Livingston, Wayne, Yates and surrounding counties to cover service provision and training needs at residences, clinics, and day programs as assigned by supervisor.
