Business Intelligence Analyst

The Business Intelligence Analyst will report to the Business Intelligence Manager and plays a critical role in transforming data into actionable insights for Acme. In this role, this individual will analyze data, create visualizations, and provide reports and dashboards that support strategic decision-making. The Business Intelligence Analyst will collaborate and support each business function with data analytics and business intelligence technologies.

Responsibilities

• Data Analysis and Visualization:
• Analyze data from various sources (e.g., ERP and CRM databases, data warehouse, and unstructured sources).
• Create meaningful reporting and visualizations (charts, graphs, dashboards) to present insights.
• Identify patterns, trends, and anomalies within the data.
• Business Insights and Recommendations:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, sales, marketing, finance) to understand business needs.
• Translate data for decision-making.
• Present data to provide insights on organizational performance.
• Reporting and Documentation:
• Develop and maintain regular reports for stakeholders.
• Document data analysis processes, assumptions, and methodologies.
• Ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Business Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence Applications
• Continuous development and maintenance of Acme BI/AI application portfolio for end-user reporting and dashboards.
• Recommend BI/AI applications to improve efficiency and drive valuable data insights for decision-makers.
• Ensure BI/AI application capabilities with data architecture, warehouse, and systems.
• Train end users as needed on BI/AI applications.
• Process Improvement:
• Identify areas for process optimization based on data analysis.
• Propose solutions to enhance data systems operational efficiency.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress based on established data standards and best practices.

Additional Information

• Reporting Structure: Business Intelligence Analysts will report to the Business Intelligence Manager.
• Impact: The Business Intelligence Analyst provides value by presenting data as information in a meaningful way so that informed and timely decisions can be made across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Intelligence, or related fields.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in data analysis or business intelligence.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Project Management fundamentals
• Background in manufacturing preferred.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in SQL or other query languages for data retrieval.
• Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Experience with data warehouse data retravel processes and toolsets. 
• Basic coding skills (e.g. Python, R, or similar language) for data manipulation.
• Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Power Platform (e.g., PowerApps, Power Automate)
• Experience with Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI concepts and platforms (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT) preferred.
