PGL, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking aManager Workforce Strategy in ourChicago, Illinois location.A hybrid work arrangement (remote/in office) is available for this position.
The Manager of Workforce Strategy is accountable for providing strategic direction and leadership for the Workforce Strategy department, providing support for Gas Operations in Illinois.
- This manager position is responsible for multi-year workforce strategy - including planning and development. Core work functions include providing critical input into the Gas Operations' Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) as well as provide strategic direction and support for the training and development of the gas operations workforce.
- Liaise with the Human Resources and Technical Training departments for gas operations.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to maintain the strategic direction and administration of external training programs associated with training of the Company's union workforce.
- Develop and maintain long-term workforce strategies and planning models.
- Works closely with operations leaders, planning, and human resources to identify, document, and prioritize operational workload and resource optimization, through the allocation of resources across the business units.
- Provide input into setting and then tracking against performance and productivity goals across workloads and shops.
- Assist in validating critical resource-related assumptions into annual workload and budget planning cycles.
- Engage with union executive leadership on labor strategies and contractual agreements and practices for union employee development and movement including upgrading practices.
- Develop strategies, plans, and support for non-technical training for gas operations employees.
- Provides supervision to Workforce Strategy team.
- Provide leadership and direction as well as change management for initiatives.
- Monitor progress and make changes based on the feedback and needs of the various departments within the Illinois companies.
- Manage contractors and consultants who will provide help and support strategic and tactical needs.
- Bachelor's Degree in Workforce Development, Business, Engineering or related discipline.
- 5 years of management and leadership experience
- 5 years of consulting and conflict resolution
- 5 years of strategy development
- Experience working in a utility environment
- Experience working with union contracts (ability to understand/interpret/adhere to)
- Experience reviewing forecasting data to determine future resources needs/workload volumes
