PeopleTec is currently seeking a passionate HWIL Simulation Engineer to join our Test Lab Integration (TLI) team in Huntsville, AL. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-level decisions for software development with a specific focus on developing aviation HWIL capabilities.
As the HWIL Simulation Engineer, you will work closely with a diverse team of engineers and modelers to develop requirements for new capabilities utilizing Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) and Model Based Testing to support Multi-domain Operations (MDO), and Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA). You will utilize your expertise to support and guide the development of HWIL simulations that accurately simulate the avionics system's behavior in a flight environment.
You will play an integral role in the full Agile software life cycle, including the development of user stories, backlog refinement, and continuous integration and delivery. As part of the Agile team, you will work collaboratively with other team members to ensure the timely and effective delivery of project requirements.
Other responsibilities and duties will include assisting in the development of test procedures and test cases based on customer requirements, analyzing test results and reporting findings to the software and hardware teams, participating in the development of new system requirements, and collaborating with other teams to ensure that systems are designed and tested to meet program requirements.

Qualifications
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level decisions for software development to develop an aviation HWIL capability
- Use expertise to support and guide the development of HWIL simulations that accurately simulate the behavior of aviation systems in a flight environment
- Collaborate with other teams, including software and hardware teams, to ensure that aviation systems are designed and tested to meet program requirements
- Develop aviation architecture and use agile development methodologies to facilitate project progress, including daily standups and sprint retrospectives
- Work with a diverse team of engineers and modelers to build new capabilities using MBSE and Model Based Testing to support MDO and MOSA initiatives
- Participate in the full Agile software life cycle, including user stories, backlog refinement, and continuous integration and delivery
- Develop and maintain HWIL test systems, including hardware and software, using agile methods to ensure timely and effective delivery of requirements
- Develop test procedures and test cases based on customer requirements
- Analyze test results and report findings to the software and hardware teams
- Participate in the development of new system requirements
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure that systems are designed and tested to meet program requirements
- Keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends and share knowledge with the team using agile methods such as lunch-and-learns and knowledge sharing sessions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or related field
- 8 years of experience in HWIL simulation, aviation systems development, or related field
- Strong technical background and excellent IT skills
- Experience in designing and developing unified vision for software characteristics and functions
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies
- Experience with developing test procedures and test cases based on customer requirements
- Knowledge of Model Based Test Engineering, Multi-domain Operations, and Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA)
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse team of engineers and modelers
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Travel: 15 %
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
