Responsibilities
PeopleTec is seeking a Rapid Senior Data Scientist for an opportunity to support our Huntsville, Alabama location.
PeopleTec is building an end-to-end data cloud-based analytics system for the U.S. Army Redstone Test Center in Huntsville, AL called RAPID. The data system combines modern data science tools such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data pipeline flows, analytics, and data visualization.
Once deployed, RTC test teams and management will be able to store, transform, analyze, and visualize their test data, as well as process data from disparate sources and different file formats. The RAPID data system allows the client a detailed level of data governance, driving data strategy and policy for the entire organization.
PeopleTec is looking for a senior data scientist who can work with the RAPID digital infrastructure team to tackle tasks such as developing the data system, build/execute data pipelines, develop data governance policy, analyze test data and work with the customer daily in an Agile project management framework. The senior data scientist is expected to be able to employ a combination of data analyst, data engineering and data scientist skills.
Specific Duties
- Responsible for the design, implementation, functionality, updating and demonstrating the capability of the RAPID data system
- Work directly with project stakeholders to build use cases for sprint development
- Work in a cross-functional environment, including inter-operating with software, cloud and systems engineering teams.
- Attend project meetings and provide demonstration of RAPID data system tools and capabilities regularly
- Create meaningful insights and visualizations from RTC test and enterprise data
- Serve as the senior data scientist on the RAPID team, providing the RTC client and PeopleTec management with recommendations to improve the RAPID architecture and functionality
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 12 years data science/data engineer experience
- Bachelors and master’s in data science, engineering, math, computer science or related discpline.
- Demonstrated experience designing and deploying data systems
- Experience processing, cleaning, and handling big data from disparate sources
- Demonstrated experience working with clients daily in a fast-paced Agile environment
- Experience collecting and curating data
- Experience with preparing and delivering briefs and demonstrating data tools to customers and management
- Travel: 20%
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelors and master’s in data science, engineering, math, computer science or related
Desired Skills:
- Test and Evaluation experience
- Experience with Azure and/or AWS
- Azure/AWS certifications
- DoD TS/SCI clearance
- Doctorate in data science, engineering, math, computer science or related discipline.
