Fleet Manager Job Description
Pepsi MidAmerica is currently searching for a Fleet Manager to oversee the management and operations of our company's fleet department.
Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement fleet management strategies and policies to ensure the smooth operation of the company's department.
2. Oversee and coordinate the maintenance, repair, and replacement of vehicles, equipment, and machinery to ensure fleet readiness and minimize downtime.
3. Manage the acquisition and disposal of fleet assets, including negotiating contracts, evaluating vendors, and ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints.
4. Monitor and analyze fleet utilization, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs to identify areas of improvement and implement cost-saving measures.
5. Develop and maintain relationships with external suppliers, vendors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
6. Coordinate with various departments within the organization to ensure that fleet operations align with business objectives and requirements.
7. Develop and implement fleet safety programs and policies to promote safe driving practices, reduce accidents, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
8. Manage and lead a team of fleet supervisors, mechanics, and administrative staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality performance.
9. Stay updated with industry advancements, technological developments, and regulatory changes related to fleet management to recommend and implement best practices and innovations.
10. Prepare regular reports and presentations on fleet performance, budget utilization, and key performance indicators for senior management and executive department.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in a related field. (Relevant experience may be substituted)
2. Proven experience in fleet management.
3. Knowledge of commercial vehicle operations, maintenance practices, and regulatory requirements.
4. Familiarity with relevant fleet management software and technologies.
5. Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
6. Good computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite and fleet management software.
7. Knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, and contract negotiation.
