Peraton is seeking an AQS24 Sonar Operator to support our Navy customer small USV Mine Hunting operations in Panama City, FL and Manama, Bahrain. This position will require training in Panama City for 3 to 6 months and will then require a one-year minimum deployment to Bahrain.
As AQS24 Sonar Operator you will integrate into a small team charged with operations and maintenance of deployed systems in support of US Navy mine countermeasures (MCM) missions in the U.S. Fifth Fleet Area of Responsibility. The small craft employed (11-meter RHIB) is equipped with Launch and Recovery (L&R) hardware that will also require daily maintenance and minor repairs. Your assigned unit mission tasking will support data collection, test and evaluation of prototype equipment, and analysis for objectives in various harbor areas, littorals, and shipping lanes. Operations will be conducted from small boats deployed from shore, embarked from various Navy Units Afloat and/or from Forward Operating bases.
