Responsibilities
We are searching for a talented Chief Security Engineer to become part of Peraton's Federal Strategic Cyber organization. This position will be located in Arlington, VA.
As the Chief Security Engineer you will architect, develop, deploy, and maintain information system security controls. You will lead operators in the administration of these systems; documents the operation, use, and expected outputs of these systems.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
What you'll do:
The Chief Security Engineer will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:
- Manages and executes security engineering activities during the analysis, design, development, and sustainment phases.
- Interfaces with the government as the lead for designing security related capabilities for each project.
- Analyze the security of the pipelines, applications, and services to achieve release and deployment and provides integration and implementation of security solutions and security features for system architectures.
- Defines holistic cloud security strategy and implement cloud orchestration tools and solutions to meet cloud security architecture requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Implements, maintains, and improves existing industry best practices of NIST security controls such as identity and access management, IDS/IPS, log analytics, encryption and data security.
- Resolves and mitigates vulnerabilities, design security functions, and provides evidence-based reasoning to substantiate claims for trustworthy and secure work products.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 20 years' experience
- Certified in ITIL 3 framework with willingness to obtain ITIL 4
- Possess one (or more) of the following: CCSP, CISSP, CSSLP, ISSM, GIAC, GCLD, GCSA, GSEC
- Strong knowledge in cloud security, experience in resolving and mitigating vulnerabilities, designing security functions, and providing evidence-based reasoning to substantiate claims for trustworthy and secure work products
- US Citizenship and a current active DoD TOP SECRET Clearance; with SCI ELIGIBILITY
Desired Qualifications:
- Current SCI Clearance
- Possess ITIL 4 certification
- Formal Agile training and Certifications
- PMP

Salary Range
Salary Minimum: $72,500 Salary Mid: $145,000 Salary Maximum: $181,300 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Peraton provides a variety of benefits to employees.
