Responsibilities
Peraton is looking for a Security Engineer to work in Fairfax and Chantilly, VA. The selected individual will play a critical role in design and accreditation of the organization’s overall cloud adoption and big data efforts. The qualified candidate will:
- Design, test, and integrate new security products as directed by Sponsor
- Maintain system baselines and configuration management items, including security event monitoring policies in a manner determined and agreed to by the Sponsor
- Stay abreast of Sponsor’s directives, regulations, guidance, notices and standards on cybersecurity
- Investigate virus/malware alerts/incidents to determine root cause, entry point of code, damage risk, and report this information
- Participate in project review meetings and provide technical cyber security guidance when necessary
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- An Active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph Security Clearance
- Experience in implementing security controls in accordance with security policy/guidance.
- Familiarity with assessment and accreditation process
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of security technologies and their application
- Ability to collaborate with Sponsor and team members to create documentation
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, System Engineering, Business or related discipline. (An additional four years of relevant work experience may substitute for a degree); OR Minimum of 8 years of software engineering experience with a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various vulnerability scanning tools and analysis of results
- Experience/certifications with cloud services technologies (AWS) to include design, implementation, or integration
- Experience working in an Agile Environment including Lean SAFE Agile solutions.
- Experience with the engineering, development and maintenance of data repositories, data management applications and systems, or data ingestion applications and systems.

Colorado Salary Minimum: $105,900 Colorado Salary Maximum: $257,000 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
