Peraton’s National Programs Business Intelligence Systems & Applications Operating Unit has a need for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to support its SITE III JIOC contract charged with the orchestration, sustainment, and evolution of a portfolio of applications that focus on Collection Management, Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) and intelligence operations that directly support intelligence analysts, operations, and collection managers across the Combatant Commands. The SITE III JIOC contract is designed to establish and ensure a multi-discipline approach to requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability and analysis across the National apparatus of Defense Intelligence, Combatant Commands, supporting Partner Nations and other Federal Agencies to ensure timely and accurate Joint Intelligence Operations (JIOC) collection, correlation and dissemination. Our support team applies best practices in architecture design, data science, cloud services, DevSecOps and platform integration to develop, sustain and continually evolve the enterprise business systems environment, systems integration, and back-end business process workflows.
The successful candidate will perform the following:
Experience with agile software methodology, and software engineering design best practices. The candidate will work within a cross-functional Scrum team, and will be responsible for developing software, participating in acceptance criteria development, creating scripts and utilizing Open Source and COTS tools to automate testing, documenting instructions, and participating in integration activities.
Duties include:
- Performs software engineering and development activities associated with supporting, maintaining, and enhancing software using an Agile DevSecOps model
- Develops and integrates bug fixes and new feature enhancements using DIA standard development tools and processes (e.g., Java, Jira, Git, Junit).
- Up to 50% remote work allowed
Qualifications
Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree with 10 years of relevant experience OR a Master’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience OR a PhD with 6 years of relevant experience; an additional 4 years of experience maybe considered in lieu of a degree requirement (higher or lower levels accepted based on years of experience)
- Programming Language Experience including – but not limited to – Java, Python (Poetry, Flask, etc.) and JavaScript (emphasis on React ecosystem libraries)
- AWS technologies: Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, DocumentDB,
- Experience using modern techniques such as REST, JSON, Spring, Spring Boot, JavaScript frameworks (e.g., JQuery, Angular, React), and Docker
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience using Git, Jenkings, Jira, Confluence

Salary Range
Salary Minimum: $72,500 Salary Mid: $145,000 Salary Maximum: $181,300 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Peraton provides a variety of benefits to employees.
