Peraton is seeking a Deputy Network Operations Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. The Deputy Network Operations Manager will assist the Network Operations Manager in the oversight and management of over 2000 managed network devices spread across multiple locations. Keeps abreast of industry best practices and trends, as well as new technologies and then plans and advises for implementation.
Manage the staff and overall activities of network and/or telecommunications systems planning, engineering and operations. Responsible for the employment, training, motivation, and evaluation of assigned staff supporting the Department of Labor under the DOL Information Technology and Operations & Maintenance (DOL ITOM) contract based at HQ for Department of Labor located in Washington, D.C. Remote work is authorized.
The DOL ITOM contract includes DOL engineering, application, and business support activities. The work includes the study, design, development, integration, testing, verification, and operations of critical information systems responsible for providing support services to the DOL and its Agency customers.
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires BA/BS with 10-12 years of experience with at least 4 years of management level responsibility or MS degree with 8-10 years of experience or a PhD with 5-7 years’ experience.
- Must have specialized knowledge in at least one area of expertise and a general knowledge in 1-2 other areas:
- Coordination and management of key initiatives/projects for Network Operations
- Long-term strategic planning, including circuit forecasts, traffic studies, mobile device usage, budgets and other network performance criteria.
- Responsibility for network hosting core services such as DNS, DHCP, file and print, remote access, cloud interconnected mail and TIC compliant internet access.
- Responsible for collaborating with network architects to support, design and implement network upgrades, install and configure networking hardware and create and implement network security measures.
- Ensure operational security and readiness of the network infrastructure and all elements of the end to end service chain.
- Must have experience with designing and implementing solutions for the client's network infrastructure, resolving advanced network support issues and manage other network support staff.
- Must be able to work on the Government's site in downtown Washington, DC.
- U.S. Citizenship required; Active Public Trust clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Manage voice network reconfiguration and billing reconciliations.
- Oversee ordering process to effectively and economically meet grade of service objectives.
- Manage vendor relationships with other contractors and other service providers.
- Plan new routing revisions to ensure that the network databases are consistent with network plans.
- Ensure that traffic planning software is developed and revised to accurately report traffic levels.
- Lead planning and policy development issues.
- PMP preferred.
- ITIL v3 or v4 preferred.
- CCNA, CCNP or CCIE preferred.
- Must be able to work on the Government's site in downtown Washington, DC.
Colorado Salary Maximum:$146,744.00
The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
