Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a highly motivated, cleared Facilities Satellite Control Network (SCN) Technician to provide mission essential support to the Consolidated Satellite Control Network (SCN) Modification, Maintenance, & Operations (CAMMO) contract in Diego Garcia, UK., a British Indian Island Territory. The CAMMO contract maintains the requirement of operational performance through a consolidated service of operations, operation & site support, organizational & depot maintenance, sustainment, modifications, and factory/launch compatibility testing for the SCN resulting in reduced Operations and Maintenance (O&M) costs. The CAMMO contract requires employees to perform mission essential functions for high consequence DoD missions during contingency operations, natural disasters, extreme weather, pandemic, or other emergency situations.
The Facilities Satellite Control Network Technician will be responsible for the following but not limited to:
- Serve as primary point-on-contact for all CAMMO projects associated with Diego Garcia. Attend meetings, coordinate with site manager, COO/COS, coordinate logistics, schedules, and down times as required.
- Provide project status reports to Site Leadership, project team leads, and other management chains as required
- Provide primary facilities support to the Diego Garcia SCN facilities identified in the PWS and work with the Site Manager to maintain facilities excellence
- Provide COMSEC/KMI Account Manager primary or alternate support as identified in the PWS
- Provide Classified/unclassified Mission Partner support COMSEC, PMIs, and maintenance
- Provide primary coordination of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and report all issues affecting the UPS systems and ensure all PMIs, and cleaning are completed/documented
- Provide escorting support as directed by Site Manager, COO, or COS
- Provide Restriction of Movement (ROM) support to include arranging/delivery of meals, Ships store items delivery, etc., IAW host base guidelines
- Provide vehicle maintenance coordination with base support facilities to ensure contract vehicles are properly maintained and ready to support mission requirements
- Perform Satellite operations, preventive maintenance inspections (PMI), and maintenance of assigned SCN mission and non-mission equipment
- Backup the Site Administrator and provide coverage of site admin tasks/duties as required
- Complete additional duties as assigned in either Primary or Alternate role
- Completing training/obtain required certifications on all operations, maintenance, and PMI duties
- This position is an unaccompanied overseas assignment
**This position is unaccompanied and requires 24/7 mission essential support as needed. Crews are divided into two twelve-hour shifts**
Qualifications
Required Qualification:
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance. In order to obtain a security clearance, you must be a U.S. Citizen
- H.S. Diploma/GED with some advanced training and 2 years of experience
- Current CompTIA Security certification or be willing and able to obtain one with 6 months of your start
- Must have a valid/current US Tourist Passport
- Experience in Satellite Control Network (SCN) performing operations, maintenance, logistics support.
- Experience supporting government and/or Department of Defense customers
Desired Qualifications:
- Active SECRET or Top Secret clearance
- Current Security Certification
- Graduation from a military signal corps school, civilian technical school, or equivalent
- Electronic repair experience and space systems experience preferred
- Experience supporting government and/or Department of Defense customers
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent teamwork
