Mid-level Software Developer

Peraton is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer to support the Peraton Team on the 4.0 IT Tools Program focusing on the SPAWAR Program Executive Office (PEO) Integrated Data Environment Repository (SPIDER).

Peraton provides engineering services to maintain, modify, deploy, and sustain the 4.0 IT Tools. This includes business analysis, requirements development, database architecture and development, User Interface (UI) design, project and release management, configuration management, software architecture, design and engineering, testing, sustainment engineering, graphic design, technical writing, technical data maintenance services, training, and other user support services. Additional efforts are to perform engineering reviews of technical data, analysis and development of potential solutions for 4.0 IT Tools modernization; provide subject matter expertise and interact with SPAWAR stakeholders regarding 4.0 IT Tools performance; provide information and software assurance support; and provide program support services.

SPIDER is the authoritative installation management tool of Fleet Command, Control, Communications, Computers & Intelligence (C4I) and Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) capability deployed on Ship, Shore, Submarine, and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG)/ Military Sealift Command (MSC) platforms. SPIDER automates the Advance Planning, Configuration Management, Design, Installation Planning, and Installation Execution functions performed by the product program offices. SPIDER is a Department of Navy (DoN) Chief Information Officer (CIO) Designated Mission Critical System with established internal and external data interfaces enabling critical data sharing, and end-to-end Configuration Management of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capability in the Fleet in support of Navy Modernization.

What you’ll do:

The Software Developer will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

• Conducts research in design, development, testing and utilization of electronic data processing software.
• Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
• Ensures software standards are met.
• Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
• Confers with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design system and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
• Designs, develops and modifies software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
• Coordinates software system installations and monitors equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.

Required qualifications:

• Requires BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2 (9 years minimum without Bachelor’s)
• US Citizen
• Active/Current DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain within 90 days
• 2 years of full-stack software development experience with:
  • Object-oriented programming (e.g. C#, C )
  • Web API (e.g. RESTful services)
  • UI development with web technologies (e.g. Angular, React)
  • RDBMS (e.g. Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server)
• Experience with customer communication and demonstrations

Desired qualifications:

• Familiarity working in an Agile development environment
• Experience with Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g. Azure Pipelines, Jenkins)
• Security , OS, or additional certifications
