Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Program Senior Director in Houston, TX to successfully manage the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Johnson Space Flight Center (JSC), and Mission Systems Operations Contract (MSOCII). This contract includes support to mission preparation (Plan), crew, flight controller, instructor, and analyst training (Train), and Real-time mission execution (Fly) activities related to exploration operations and the International Space Station operations.
In this position, you will have total leadership responsibility for schedule, cost, and technical performance for a large, complex, and diverse program. We are seeking qualified candidates that bring leadership and experience to ensure Operations capability development support associated with the emerging options for the exploration initiatives and potential new programs, including, but not limited to the Artemis Program (Orion Spacecraft Space Launch System Program, Exploration Ground Systems, Gateway Lunar Landers, and Excursion Vehicles), Commercial Crew and Cargo, Commercial Low Earth Orbit, and Advanced technology and research.
This position will provide the leadership and direction in coordination with NASA for:
- Leading the program in ensuring innovative and mission-effective services and solutions are consistently achieved.
- Contract Management and Administration
- Operations Support for Vehicle / System / Program Design and Development
- Mission Preparation (Plan) including Technical Integration, Product Development, Mission Analysis, and Mission and Training Systems Support
- Mission Training (Train) Development, Planning, Documentation, and Execution
- Mission Execution (Fly) including Real-Time Mission Support and Postflight Analysis
- Astronaut Office and CAPCOM Support
- Avionics and Software Integration, Coordination and Support Activities
- Responsible to direct, grow, and ensure successful execution of all aspects of the program.
- Manage program resources with the responsibility for overall performance from a financial, technical, schedule, contractual, and customer satisfaction.
- Communicate policies, purposes and goals of the program and building/maintaining a positive work culture.
- Develop, track, and ensure plans and schedules are followed, develop solutions to program challenges, and seek opportunities to maximize customer satisfaction.
- Directly interface with and support the NASA program office and other customers as needed to coordinate all program activities and assess performance of the contract.
- Travel to local and remote government and Peraton facilities as necessary to interface with government and Peraton personnel; (estimated less than 10%)
- Support business development activities in new and follow-on contract pursuits
Qualifications
Required
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Math, or related technical discipline, and 18 years of directly related experience, or a Master's degree and 16 years of related experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and insight in space exploration, mission planning, missions training, and mission operations.
- A background that includes relationships across the commercial space industry
- Experience managing large ($250M plus) projects with respect to cost, schedule, performance, and risk.
- Minimum 10 years of experience interfacing with Government and/or Prime customers to provide status of projects and resolving program issues.
- Experience with selection and hiring of candidates for technical and management positions and conducting performance evaluations and salary reviews for assigned staff.
- Experience with managing programs with modern and current IT, such as cloud and/or virtual networks
- Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance, which requires a US citizen.

- 10 years’ experience working with NASA and deep understanding of NASA’s systems, standards, policies and procedures for execution and operations of their missions.
- PMI certified as a PMP.
- Experience in Space Operations
- Experience with leading a team to develop creative ways to adapt current technology, increasing efficiency and maximizing the potential of existing assets.
- Ability to succeed in the fast-paced and changing environments of development and program execution.

Target Salary Range
$229,000 - $366,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
