Responsibilities
The Technical Lead will be responsible for planning and building out the transition of a customer virtualization solution and moving it to a managed services solution under Peraton. The Lead will help with providing a recommended solution to take over the operational support of VMWare and Hyper-V environments in a multi-data center environment with hundreds of ESX hosts hosting mission critical applications. Conduct weekly status calls involving team members and customers on current activities and projects. Participate with vendors to provide the most optimal solution and lead the purchasing of IT. Work with the rest of the team to integrate the solution into existing IaaS infrastructure. Build out a robust roadmap that includes milestones and decision gates with customer input.
What you will do:
- Applies technical knowledge to assist clients in the design and development of solutions to complex technical engineering and applications problems, network challenges, or system administration issues. •Establishes the basic structure of the system, defines essential core design features and elements that provide the framework.
- Incorporates engineering strategies for introducing new technology into the customer's infrastructure related to its business processes of collection, analysis, production, and dissemination.
- Performs cost-benefit analyses to determine whether requirements are best met by manual, software, or hardware functions; making maximum use of commercial off-the-shelf or already developed components.
- Applies knowledge of enterprise IT or engineering needs to design improved processes, generate valid requirements, and ensures that these are consistent with the customer's enterprise technical architecture. •May participate in business development activities.
- Responsible for initial design and development of new systems or extensive systems revisions to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements
- Ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for agency IT architectures, and profiles of standards as they apply to the implementation and specific to the solution for the platform, integration with other systems
- Ensures that the common operating environment is compliant. Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action
- Provides daily supervision, design guidance and direction to staff
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science and 10 to 12 years of experience. Additional years of experience may be accepted in lieu of the degree
- 5 years Windows Administration experience
- VMWWARE 7.x version experience
- 5 years VMware Administration experience
- 2 years patch and vulnerability management
- High level understanding of risks created by vulnerabilities
- High level knowledge of Active Directory and group policy objects.
- Knowledge of process to rollback patches as needed
- Ability to follow standard work and produce appropriate documentation
- 1 year of experience implementing with Hardened Baseline Configuration standards and controls
- High level understanding of risks associated with controls like CIS
- Able to independently troubleshoot issues
- Experience with Microsoft IIS
- Ability to assist in audit data gathering
- Familiarity with different hardware configurations a plus. e.g. 3-tier, hyper-converged.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Public Trust BI

- Cloud computing experience and knowledge

Salary Range
Salary Minimum: $72,500 Salary Mid: $145,000 Salary Maximum: $181,300 The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position, and is just one component of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.
