Perch Energy has an immediate opening for a highly skilled and motivated mid-level AWS Infrastructure and Platform Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is crucial in ensuring the stability and performance of our AWS infrastructure while also contributing to the development of platform tools that enhance the productivity of our engineering organization.?
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain and support the AWS infrastructure, ensuring it operates efficiently and reliably
- Develop, implement, and manage platform tools to support the engineering team
- Work with Kubernetes/EKS, S3, and RDS to maintain and optimize our cloud environment
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
- Write and maintain scripts in Groovy and Java
- Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and resolve issues, and to implement new features and improvements
- Utilize data warehouse and ETL tools like Fivetran as needed
Requirements
- Proficiency with AWS services, specifically Kubernetes/EKS, S3, RDS and Redshift
- Strong programming skills in Groovy and Java
- Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-code tools, specifically Helm and Terraform
- Familiarity with data warehouse and ETL tools. Fivetran is a plus
- Familiarity with AWS services like Route 53, EC2, Cognito Auth, KMS, Secrets Manager
- Familiarity with metric tools Prometheus and Grafana
- Familiarity with Istio Service Mesh
- 3-7 years of experience in AWS and software engineering
- Hands-on experience with Jenkins and CI/CD processes
- Proven track record of managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Hybrid Information: Perch Energy has a small Boston office that is utilized by some of our employees. For this role, we are looking for someone to come to the Boston office about two days a week. We are understanding when "life happens" and there needs to be some flexibility on this but do want someone who is excited & wants to be in the office with other Perchers!
