Hospice LVN

Peregrine Team is Urgently Hiring Hospice LVNs in Orange County, CA. This is a local position with 12-week-long contracts (able to extend).  

Pay: $27-35/hour

Job Duties:

• Under the direction of a registered nurse, provides care within the scope of the Vocational Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
• Assists in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Follows patient identification procedures, provides appropriate information for all patient procedures, and collects and handles specimens.
• Assesses and implements prescribed interventions for the patient.
• Implements and documents discharge plan for each patient.
• Recognizes that ethical/legal/medical dilemmas exist in the nursing practice and confers with the appropriate resource personnel when making ethical nursing decisions.
• Participates in maintaining a safe patient care environment.
• Assist with the care and maintenance of department equipment.
• Complete and accurate charting of patient records.
• Complete and accurate record keeping of equipment and quality measures.
• Collaborate with other disciplines of the health care team to ensure the delivery of care across the continuum, providing timely, safe and quality care.
• Responsible for providing a safe, HIPAA compliant environment for the patient and the staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Current BLS certification. – Required 
• Current California LVN License. - Required  
• One or more years of experience in a healthcare care facility
• Basic keyboarding skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word and Excel
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology
• Community health/hospice or medical/surgical experience - Preferred  
• Understands philosophy of hospice concept
• Also understands needs of the terminally ill
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order
• Shift- 40 hours- 5x8 (Mids)
