Greenhouse Nursery Worker

We are a wholesale greenhouse nursery grower located in Westfield, Indiana. We grow and sell annuals, perennials, groundcover, deciduous shrubs, evergreens and trees. Our single location set on 16 acres with 6 acres of greenhouse space has a family owned and operated atmosphere. We work hard and have fun while we all work together.

Responsibilities:

• Move and lift plants within our greenhouses and/or our yard.
• Plant bare root or nursery material in to various size containers.
• Watering of nursery shrubs, evergreens, and trees.
• Prune, cut back, fertilize and weed plant material as instructed.
• Perform some specialized tasks which may require on-the job training.
• Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
• Maintain all health and safety standards.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Positive attitude and work ethic.
• Able to work independently or as an active member of a team.
• Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety.
• Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.
• Ability to work outside in adverse weather conditions.
• Must be able to follow safety rules and perform tasks safely.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or higher preferred.
• Ability to safely operate various vehicles and equipment after training.
• Previous experience would be a plus but not necessary.
