As Host at PERILLA Korean American Fare, you are the first point of contact for our guests, playing a crucial role in shaping their dining experience. Your primary responsibility is to ensure each guest feels welcomed, valued, and attended to from the moment they step through our doors to the moment they depart. Your professionalism, attention to detail, and dedication to hospitality are integral to our success as a team. Key tasks include:
We believe that in order to provide our guests with the very best experience of food and hospitality, it requires a dedicated team of individuals working together with the same goal and purpose. The goal being, to respectfully introduce and represent our cuisine and culture with passion and attention to detail. We hope to create and maintain a community of independent small businesses supporting each other throughout Chicago and partner with quality purveyors that allow us to share their products and services. While doing so, we hope to create a workplace for our teammates that offers opportunities and growth in a positive work environment.

Our company, PERILLA, is named after a plant native to Korea and many east asian countries. It is known to be very adaptable and grows vigorously on any soil. The name is an homage to our parents who are first generation immigrants that traveled to foreign land and rooted themselves on new soil. Our food is centered around a communal dining experience. Inspired by Korean flavors and ingredients, we offer our approach on many traditional classics and modern Korean dishes paired alongside new and exciting takes created by Chef Andrew Lim to represent the second generation of Korean Americans and the food we love to enjoy and share.

- Execute opening, in-service, and closing checklists with precision and attention to detail.
- Actively participate in pre-shift meetings, engaging with the team to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Stay updated on announcements and updates via Slack app, reacting to each message to confirm acknowledgment.
- Prepare yourself for pre-shift duties to ensure a smooth start to each shift.
- Handle carryout and delivery orders efficiently and with care.
- Assist in water service
- Assist with plotting, seating, and attending to guests' needs, including providing water promptly.
- Ensure checked belongings are properly taken care of and stored.
- Maintain awareness of the floor behind you, updating statuses accurately as needed.
- Manage menus, ensuring they are pulled from server stations, cleaned, and sorted through thoroughly.
- Provide assistance to the team as needed, fostering a culture of teamwork and support.
- Bid farewell to guests, ensuring they leave with a positive impression of their experience.
