Must Have Experience
8-12 years’ experience in working with development of WiFi AP (6E/7)
· Understanding of Wi-Fi technologies WiF6E, WiFi7 and aware of Wi-Fi industry standards and associations like WBA and WFA.
· Proficiency in Linux and experience in configuring, customizing, and building Linux distributions ( RDK-B or OpenWRT)
· Strong programming skills in C and C
· Strong in Wi-Fi Protocols & In-depth understanding of Spectrum and packet capture/analysis
· Experience with broadband product including CPE RDKB devices, DOCSIS, Cable Modem standards etc.
· Understanding of the Linux kernel, as RDK-B / OpenWRT often involves kernel-level customization. This includes kernel configuration, device drivers, and kernel modules.
· Investigate and validate hardware compliance with 802.11 protocols and features
· Analyze RF propagation, interference, and noise. In depth understanding of Wi-Fi authentication protocols (WPA2/WPA3/802.1X with EAP-TLS/PEAP)
· Work with test equipment such as Octoscope, Candela, or Veriwave.
· Proficiency with version control systems like Git for managing code repositories and collaboration with other developers.
· Scripting skills in shell languages like python/TCL/Bash for automation and scripting tasks
· Familiarity with web-based user interfaces and web server technologies. RDK-B / OpenWRT often includes web interfaces for configuration.
· Proficiency in debugging tools and techniques, as embedded systems can be challenging to troubleshoot.
· Experience in building DevOps Pipeline, Automation
Preffered Skill set
· Active participation in the RDK-B community and an understanding of its development processes and culture.
· The ability to adapt to evolving technologies and software requirements as RDK-B/OpenWRT and the networking landscape change.
· Good understanding of wireless technologies primarily wifi and its interfaces.
· Awareness of security best practices, as network devices need to be secure. This includes understanding encryption, authentication, and network security.
· Understanding of wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi, and how to configure wireless interfaces in RDK-B / OpenWRT
