- Client-Based responsibilities as defined within existing SOW/MSA
- Supervisory responsibilities
- Review and performance feedback career development, and resource support.
- Administrative tasks include PTO requests, expense reporting and timesheet authorization.
- Responsible for recruiting processes including job description writing, interviewing, decision making, and onboarding.
- Collaborating with Merck and PerkinElmer Safety to ensure team compliance
- Trainings
- Medical surveillance
- Coordinating and leading team meetings
- One-on-ones
- Identifying and reporting on dashboard metrics (out-of-scope, cost savings etc.)
- Meeting presentations
- Infrequent local travel to Cambridge site may be required
- Due to unique dynamics of the role, customer responsibilities take priority with supervisory requirements occasionally having to be completed after normal working hours.
Basic Education/Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry/Biology/Engineering or relevant field; Masters or higher preferred
- Minimum of 3 years working in pharmaceutical industry preferably in early discovery R&D
- Demonstrated leadership skills in a scientific setting is required
Preferred Technical Experience/Qualifications
- Experience with various molecular and cellular biology techniques (PCR, cell culture, sequencing)
- Prior experience with analytical instrumentation including mass spectrometers, chromatographs (e.g. GC and HPLC). Additional experience with method development and analytical chemistry is a plus.
- Experience with flow cytometry and/or mass cytometry (CyTOF)
- Operator-level experience with liquid handling automation (Echo, Hamilton, Bravo)
Physical Demands
- The overall physical exertion of this position requires:
- Sit or stand 2-3 hours in laboratory areas.
- Walk 2-3 hours within a facility.
- Reach above/below the shoulder, bend at the knees and waist.
- Lift up to 25 lbs.
- Office work activities, including keyboard, with fingers/hands/arms up to 4 hours.
- Work around moving laboratory equipment and machinery.
- Use of personal protective equipment in laboratory.
- Work with biohazards such as blood borne pathogens.
Working Environment
- Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment.
- Job pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.
- Employee maybe required to manage hazardous wastes in compliance with company procedures & State/Federal/Local hazardous waste regulations. Duties may include: Identifying, handling, generating, accumulating, storing, labeling.
- Ensure safety, security, and the environment in all aspect of the daily activities, and any potential safety hazards are addressed and corrected immediately.
- Understand ergonomic relationship between people, equipment and working environment.
