The Opportunity:
This position is in Perkins Eastmans Austin Texas office and includes multiple responsibilities as Perkins Eastman continues our growth in Central Texas. The position includes a mix of architectural and strategic planning project work and business development in the region and the state.
This position will be a thought leader in the Austin office and in collaboration with other practice area leaders, help lead the development and implementation of Perkins Eastmans strategic growth plan for the K-12 practice area in Texas. While Perkins Eastman grows our Central Texas presence, it is expected that this position will support K-12 architectural projects around the country and support the growth of our Austin office through projects in other practice areas, including but not limited to Higher Education, Healthcare, and Senior Living.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively in a dynamic office setting, contributing to all phases of architectural work.
- Support strategic planning projects in Texas and around the country, primarily in the K-12 practice area, but may include other practice areas as needed.
- Lead the development of Perkins Eastmans K-12 strategic plan in Texas
- Represent Perkins Eastman at professional organization events, committees, and other associations.
- Support with business development and client relationships in Texas
- Coordinate with Perkins Eastmans sustainability and research teams and incorporate into Perkins Eastmans Texas growth plan.
- Manage project staffing, accounting, schedule on projects.
- Lead communications among internal team, consultants, owner, and contractors on projects.
- Manage agreements and authorizations with owners and consultants.
- Support excellence in delivering publicly bid work.
- Coordinate logistical aspect of design deliverables.
- Advance the performance of projects through establishment and guidance of project team.
- Support the growth of staff in the Austin studio
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master of Architecture Degree.
- Minimum 10 years of experience.
- Ability to develop, communicate and present design concepts.
- Strong communication skills and excellent graphic presentation skills.
- Experience and passion for high performance, sustainable architectural design.
- Proficiency with Revit, Sketch-Up and Adobe Creative Suite is required. Rhino or Environmental analysis design software.
- LEED Accreditation. WELL and Phius certification a plus.
- Architectural registration strongly preferred.
